Precision Equipment Setting
True North Metrology and Alignment recently supported a capital project at a chemical facility in Southwest Louisiana. We partnered with an industrial contractor and OEM during the installation of a 48-foot kiln in the catalyst production area. Given the high precision required, we were brought in to meet strict alignment specifications. Working closely with the OEM, we focused on aligning the trunnion rollers that support and guide the kiln. Using advanced metrology tools, we delivered real-time data to align the rollers within five thousandths of an inch. This level of accuracy was essential to the kiln’s performance and longevity.
Our work helped ensure the successful commissioning of the new kiln, enabling reliable operation and reducing maintenance downtime. It’s another example of how True North provides critical alignment solutions in complex industrial environments.

Industrial Equipment Alignment
True North Metrology and Alignment recently completed a precision measurement project at a paper mill in central Arkansas. Our team was brought in to collect detailed alignment data on a critical section of dryer cans within the facility’s paper machine. With production efficiency and equipment longevity in mind, the facility needed accurate positional data to determine whether any components had shifted out of alignment and required adjustment during the upcoming scheduled outage. Using advanced laser metrology tools and alignment protocols, we delivered high-resolution, reliable measurements that allowed the client to make informed decisions about potential corrections.
Our contribution provided the mill’s maintenance and engineering teams with a clear understanding of current conditions—reducing guesswork, improving planning, and helping avoid unnecessary downtime. Projects like this highlight the value of precision alignment services in optimizing performance and preventing costly surprises during major shutdowns.
